They Rise Again: Creativity as Time Travel (144 Words)

ART

I don’t know what to write about today, which means that I have a lot of things I want to write.

Sometimes there are these creative bottlenecks, let’s call them, where there’s so much happening only a few things can flow through.

This year has already brought a number of things forward creatively. Yesterday, I opened the file of my first play—Sarah’s Salt—it’s calling me to finish it. It’s taken me two years to learn what it needs.

This is how projects often speak, at least to me.

“Time” goes by. But in the creative space it may have only been a few seconds.

Yeah…!

Using creativity as time travel. That’s my jam.

For this play and these characters it’s been two world years for me and a matter of moments for them.

They rise again now. Ready to say more.
